History
The Cambridge House Bed and Breakfast was built in 1916 and was the home of the local doctor and his family. 'Doc' Whiteman and his wife Carrie were prominent citizens in the community and are fondly remembered by the locals who love to tell amusing anecdotes about their experiences with the good doctor, or their relationships with Carrie and the children. After the passing of her husband, Carrie lived in the house for many years until she moved to Council.
The beautiful old craftsman-style house was purchased in the mid 1980s by Mr. & Mrs. Jack Huff, but left unoccupied for many years.
In December of 2008 the house again changed hands. Sheila Marchbanks, a lifelong resident of rural Canyon County near Notus Idaho, saw the great potential in the house as a bed & breakfast. After a little over a year of renovation the house is ready to welcome overnight guests into its charming early 1900's atmosphere.
From its wide inviting front porch to its five bedrooms and 37 windows, the house was built by expert craftsmen to be enjoyed and appreciated for many years. The original hardwood floors still grace the entire house, as does the original brick fireplace and built in china cabinet. The three bedrooms upstairs all boast private ensuite bathrooms, which were converted from walk-in closets. The two bedrooms downstairs have king beds and share a common bath which has a beautiful claw-foot tub. All five rooms enjoy cable television and wireless internet.
Come and experience the hospitality extended at The Cambridge House Bed & Breakfast, where the wholesome, friendly atmosphere feels "just like staying at Grandma's house!".

We named the rooms after their respective paint colors
Blue Room
The blue room, a romantic retreat on the second floor, has a beautiful north-eastern exposure and is bright and airy. It has a queen bed and the largest of the three private ensuite bathrooms, boasting both a tub and shower. The large, mirrored wardrobe holds your 32" HDTV.
Beige Room
This cozy second floor room has a queen-sized bed with a small adjoining room containing a day bed. Perfect for a family traveling with small children or adults wanting to share a room, but not a bed. The private, ensuite bathroom contains both tub and shower for your comfort and convenience. The armoire houses your own television, and three large windows overlook 1st Street and the front walk.
Yellow Room
This light-filled room with its south-western exposure is the largest of the second story rooms. It is filled with majestic, dark wood furniture and a luxurious king-sized bed. Its private ensuite bathroom is small but completely functional with both tub and shower. The lovely armoire at the foot of the bed holds the television for this room also.
Peach Room
This beautiful first floor room boasts 6 windows and is situated in the north-west corner of the house. It has a spacious king bed, a built in closet, and a television in the armoire.
